Walsall Council announced on 2 March 2026 that Bloxwich, West Midlands, will receive a share of a £1.5 million government funding boost from the Pride in Place Impact Fund to improve local community spaces and services.

This money is meant for projects that make a real difference to how the area looks, such as upgrading public spaces and fixing up local community centres. Residents and local groups in Bloxwich could also benefit from new grants to help with small projects or service improvements.

These new funds will build on work already happening in the area, such as the Bloxwich Launchpad which is already helping local people start new businesses. Other work is also taking place to improve local parks through the Green Bloxwich project, including upgrades at the King George V Playing Fields.

The council confirmed the extra funding after setting its budget for 2026/27, which already sets aside money for things like children’s services. While the council has to manage its regular spending carefully, this specific grant provides extra cash to focus on projects that help people feel more proud of their local neighbourhood.
