Residents in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, are being told to prepare for a period of unsettled weather including heavy rain and potential snow starting in mid-March 2026.

On 3 March 2026, the Met Office updated its long-range outlook to warn of rain and strong winds between 18 March and 1 April 2026. While the month will start mild with temperatures reaching 17°C on 5 March, the national weather service expects conditions to turn much colder with an increased risk of ice and snow.

The forecast is of particular concern for the town centre where areas like Bath Street and the Pump Room Gardens are already at risk of flooding from the River Leam. Information from the Environment Agency shows these low-lying spots are designated flood warning areas.

This upcoming unsettled spell follows what the Met Office has called a wet winter for 2025 and 2026. Saturated ground from the recent rainy months could make travel disruptions and property impacts more likely if heavy rain continues throughout the second half of the month.
