Blackpool Council has reopened a public consultation to let residents in Blackpool, Lancashire, share their views on a major housing project that could see homes refurbished or demolished. The feedback will help shape the final plans for the Blackpool Central Housing Regeneration Area Framework before the consultation survey closes on Friday 27 March 2026.

The project is supported by £90 million in funding from the UK Government and Homes England. This investment is intended to transform the local housing market by replacing roughly 400 older homes with 280 modern houses and new public green spaces.

The plans affect 12 specific streets, including parts of Ashton Road, Central Drive, Chadwick Street, Erdington Road, Grasmere Road, and Harrison Street. Other streets within the target area include Kent Road, Montrose Avenue, Princess Street, Rigby Road, Rydal Avenue, and Salthouse Avenue.

Residents are being asked for their opinions on several options, such as the council buying properties, tearing down old buildings, or fixing up existing houses. The proposals also include improvements to local streets and the creation of new routes for people who are walking or cycling.

The information gathered during this month will be used to guide the next stage of the project and inform formal planning applications. Residents can view the details and provide their feedback through the official council website or at local drop-in sessions before the deadline at the end of the month.
