Blackpool Council has launched a public consultation to let residents help shape a new plan for housing and community facilities in central Blackpool, Lancashire. The project, known as the Central Housing Regeneration Area Framework, is open for feedback until late March 2026 and focuses on improving the quality of life around the Central Drive area.
The first public meeting and drop-in session for the project is taking place on 5 March 2026 at the Ibbison Court Community Centre. This event allows locals to speak with officials and share their thoughts on how the neighbourhood should look in the future.
At this stage, there are no approved plans or dedicated funding for any building work in the wider area. Instead, the council is asking for ideas on how to manage housing, create green spaces, and improve local infrastructure over the coming years.
A previous survey held in autumn 2025 showed that 71 per cent of respondents supported the idea of regenerating the central housing area. Council leader Cllr Lynn Williams and Bloomfield Ward Councillor Cllr Jim Hobson are encouraging residents to take part to ensure the final version of the plan reflects what the community needs.
