Commuters and visitors in York, North Yorkshire, will see ticket prices rise for most Park & Ride services starting on 29 March 2026. First Bus York is introducing the changes as part of its annual fare review, which affects day returns and various multi-trip bundles.

The cost of a standard adult day return will increase from £3.90 to £4.00. Those who use the monthly Commuter Travel Club pass will see a larger jump, with the price rising from £51.80 to £58.00.

Passengers who use concessionary passes are not affected by this price review. Their fares will remain at the current rate of £1.40 when bought on the bus.

The price changes will apply across all six of the city’s Park & Ride sites. These locations include Askham Bar, the Designer Outlet, Grimston Bar, Monks Cross, Poppleton Bar, and Rawcliffe Bar.

Regular passengers may be able to save money by purchasing or topping up multi-day tickets before the new rates begin at the end of the month. The bus operator carries out these reviews every year to manage the costs of running the service.
