On 5 March 2026, the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launched a new online feedback system for expectant and new mothers in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. The simplified process is designed to make it quicker and easier for women to share their experiences of hospital care during their pregnancy.

The feedback tool is built directly into the Badger Notes mobile app, which is already used by patients to track appointments and view their pregnancy records. This update allows women to provide input on their care as it happens, rather than waiting until after they have given birth.

Digital midwife Laura Stephenson stated that women can now share how the hospital is doing at any time and as often as they want. She said that hearing directly from patients is essential to making every pregnancy journey safe and supported.

The trust plans to use this information to identify where services are working well and where changes need to be made. This digital approach aims to help the maternity department stay responsive to the needs of the families they serve.
