The Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway is launching its 2026 events season with a four-day Easter celebration in Sittingbourne, Kent. Running from Good Friday, 3 April 2026, to Easter Monday, 6 April 2026, the event features heritage steam trains and activities for families.
The historic rail line has scheduled several themed experiences throughout the year including Pirate and Wild West weekends. On 27 June and 28 June 2026, the railway will host the Railway 200 Steam & Beer Music Festival with live music, food, and local refreshments.
According to Visit Swale, these events aim to encourage local tourism while preserving the history of the narrow-gauge line. The railway originally served the local paper mill industry and is now operated by a team of volunteers.
The 2026 season will end in December with the popular Santa Special trains. These festive journeys include a visit to Santa’s Grotto and gifts for children who ride the train.
