Warwick District Council launched a new campaign on 10 March 2026 to help men understand the impact of sexual harassment on women and girls in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. The initiative, titled In Her Shoes, was officially introduced at the Royal Spa Centre to promote better safety and respect in public spaces.

The campaign uses a film with reversed gender roles to show men and boys how everyday actions like catcalling, wolf whistling, and staring affect others. This approach is designed to encourage men to think about their own conduct and to step in when they see others behaving inappropriately.

The project was funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire and produced by local company YouNeek Productions. By showing the perspective of victims, the council hopes to create a more welcoming environment across the district.

Councillor Jim Sinnott stated that women and girls deserve to feel safe while walking through local streets. He noted that if small issues like persistent staring go unchallenged, they could lead to more serious forms of violence.
