On 4 March 2026, the Charity Commission issued an official warning to the Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Slough, Berkshire. The regulator stepped in after the organisation repeatedly failed to submit its yearly financial reports on time over several years.

Records show the charity filed its accounts late for five different years, specifically in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024. These reports are required by law to show the public and worshippers how money is being managed within the community.

The investigation also looked into whether the display of boards with the word Khalistan at the site was an improper political act. Officials decided that these signs were used for religious reasons rather than as political campaigning for an independent state, meaning no rules were broken in this area.

The charity has now followed a set of instructions issued in December 2024 to improve its management and how it looks after its money. Because the leaders have made these changes, the regulator has officially closed the case and does not plan to take any further action.
