A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at a home in Ipswich, Suffolk. Suffolk Constabulary was called to a house on Russet Road at 1:10am on Tuesday 10 March 2026 after receiving concerns for a woman’s welfare.

Upon arrival at the address, officers found a 28-year-old woman, Karlie Sone,  who was unresponsive, and she was pronounced dead a short time later. Paul Stevenson, of Fletcher Road in Ipswich, was arrested by police and has now been officially charged with her murder.

A medical examination to find the cause of death was carried out on Wednesday 11 March 2026, though the official results are currently pending further investigation. Police have stated that the man and the woman were known to each other and that the incident is being treated as isolated.

Officers have reassured the local community that there is no wider threat to the public following the event. Stevenson was kept in police custody and appeared before the Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 12 March 2026.
