From 11 March 2026, passengers in Colchester, Essex, can now track their buses in real-time following a new digital update from local operator Konectbuses (formerly Hedingham & Chambers). The live tracking feature has been added to the company’s website to help travellers monitor their journeys and see exactly when a bus will arrive at their stop.

The new tool is available through the service updates page and is designed to reduce uncertainty for people using the local bus network. By providing live location data, the operator aims to help residents better manage their travel plans, particularly during times of disruption or delays on the road.

The bus operator, which serves a wide area including Colchester and surrounding parts of North Essex and Suffolk, completed its transition to the Konectbuses brand in 2025. The introduction of live tracking is intended to make the network more reliable for commuters who often deal with traffic congestion and roadworks in the region.

Now part of the independently-owned Transport Made Simple group following its acquisition from Go-Ahead in late 2025, the company manages a large number of routes across the county. This latest digital improvement is part of an ongoing effort to make public transport more accessible and easier to use for everyone in the community.
