The Scarborough Open Air Theatre in North Yorkshire has broken its all-time ticket record for the 2026 summer season, with 150,000 tickets already sold. This milestone was reached on 12 March 2026, nearly three months before the first concert is set to begin at the North Bay venue.

According to the North Yorkshire Council, the current sales figure is 35,000 higher than the previous record. The council expects the upcoming concert series to bring a £15 million boost to the local economy along the Yorkshire coast this summer.

The 2026 schedule has been expanded to include more than 25 shows, which is 10 more than the previous year. High-profile international acts such as Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette are among those performing at the seaside stage.

Research into the theatre’s impact shows that approximately 70 per cent of concert-goers travel for more than an hour to attend events. This high number of visitors from outside the area helps to fill local hotels and increase spending at nearby restaurants and shops.

Since the venue was refurbished and reopened in 2010, it has sold more than one million tickets in total. Venue promoters Cuffe and Taylor have managed the concert programming at the council-owned site since 2016.
