BCP Council has finalised 51 public parking spaces at the Hawkwood Road car park in Boscombe, Dorset, which are now fully open to the public this March 2026.
The reopening of these spaces follows the construction of a new local community centre nearby and is intended to provide consistent parking for shoppers and visitors.
The Hawkwood Road Community Centre development includes two large halls for the public to use, as well as meeting rooms and a cafe area.
These changes are part of the Bournemouth Towns Fund, a wider plan that has been running since 2020 to create more social and cultural spaces in the town.
While the new centre offers more local facilities, the Boscombe Business Community has previously expressed concerns about how a reduction in total parking spaces might affect shops in the town centre.
