A 23-year-old man from Basingstoke has admitted to attacking two police officers at the Holiday Inn Express in Fleet, Hampshire, on 8 March 2026.
George Eastman, of Eastrop Way, pleaded guilty to two charges of assaulting a police officer during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday 10 March 2026. The incident happened after officers were called to Fleet Road at approximately 9:30 pm to help a man who was being threatened.
According to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, Eastman became violent when officers found him at the hotel. During the confrontation, he threatened the officers before biting, kicking, and spitting at them.
Following his guilty plea, Eastman was released on bail with certain rules to follow. He is expected to return to the same court for his sentencing on 14 April 2026.
