Residents in Colchester, Essex, should prepare for a change in weather today, Monday, 16 March 2026, as a sunny morning is set to give way to rain by the afternoon. The Met Office has predicted that clear skies will be replaced by thickening clouds as the day progresses.

While the morning started with bright spells and dry conditions, light rain and drizzle are expected to arrive from the west later today. The chance of rain increases to 50 per cent by 4pm and 5pm, before falling to 40 per cent at 6pm.

Despite the wet weather, temperatures are expected to remain mild for the middle of March. The area will see a daytime high of 12°C before the overcast conditions settle in for the evening.
