Watford FC defeated Wrexham AFC 3-1 at Vicarage Road in Hertfordshire on 17 March 2026. The win helps the home team in their push to reach the promotion play-offs at the end of the season.

Marc Bola opened the scoring for the home side after 18 minutes, followed by a second goal from Edo Kayembe in the 38th minute. While Wrexham scored a goal through Max Cleworth early in the second half, Watford secured the win when Edoardo Bove scored four minutes into injury time.

The result moves Watford into 9th place in the league table with 55 points. According to BBC Sport, this was the first time Wrexham has lost a match away from home in the 2026 calendar year.

Wrexham remains in 6th place with 60 points following the match. Records show that Watford is now five points behind the top six positions with eight matches left to play. Manager Ed Still said the victory was a positive result for the team.
