Merseyside Police are investigating the theft of more than 20 pallets of Kingfisher tuna from a trailer in Kirkby, Merseyside. The incident took place at the Knowsley Industrial Park in the early hours of Wednesday 18 March 2026. Officers believe the goods were taken between 2:00 am and 5:30 am before being driven away from the site.
Investigators report that two men forced their way into the trailer to access the stock. A separate truck was then used to transport the large quantity of tuna pallets away from the industrial park. Police were first notified of the break-in at 6:25 am later that morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Leanne Toole explained that these types of crimes have a serious impact on the local economy and job security for workers. She is asking anyone who is offered Kingfisher tuna in unusual circumstances to get in touch with the authorities. Residents with information can contact the police directly or speak to Crimestoppers without giving their name.
