A 30-kilometre community walk will take place on Sunday 29 March 2026 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cancer support charity Maggie’s. The event aims to raise money for the town’s recently opened support centre for people living with cancer.
The walk is led by Northamptonshire Walks and will follow a route through local parks, university grounds, and along the canals. It starts and ends at the Maggie’s centre, which is located in the grounds of Northampton General Hospital.
The charity was first established in 1996 in Edinburgh, following the vision of its founder Maggie Keswick Jencks. Over the last three decades, the organisation has grown to provide free psychological and practical help to people affected by cancer across the country.
Residents who want to take part are asked to pay a £10 entry fee and are encouraged to raise at least £100 in sponsorship. People can choose to walk the full distance, which is expected to take around eight hours, or join for shorter sections of the route.
