Residents in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, will see a sharp drop in temperatures and strong winds starting on Wednesday, 25 March 2026. According to the Met Office, daytime highs will fall from 14°C at the start of the week to just 8°C by Wednesday.

Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 41mph, which is a significant increase from the light winds seen earlier in the week. These strong gusts mean that while the thermometer shows 8°C, the air will feel as cold as -2°C for those outdoors.

There is a 60-70% chance of light showers throughout Wednesday, and overnight temperatures in the town are set to drop to 0°C. Chief Forecaster Steve Willington at the Met Office stated that these colder spells and wintry showers are typical for this time of year.

The regional forecast for the East Midlands confirms that the middle of the week will be windy with a mix of sunshine and scattered heavy showers. Conditions are expected to stay cool on Thursday before temperatures begin to recover heading into the weekend.
