Residents in Stockport, Greater Manchester, are being told to prepare for a sharp drop in temperatures and heavy rain starting on Tuesday 24 March 2026. This change follows a warm and sunny weekend and marks a shift to much colder, unsettled conditions across the region.

According to the Met Office, Tuesday will bring heavy rain and strong wind gusts reaching 36mph. While the daytime high is expected to be 12°C, it will feel more like 9°C before temperatures fall to 2°C overnight.

The weather is expected to get colder on Wednesday 25 March 2026, with maximum temperatures of 8°C and wind gusts as high as 42mph. The Met Office forecasts an overnight low of 1°C with a “feels like” temperature of -2°C.

Met Office Chief Forecaster Steve Willington explained that this shift to a cooler north-westerly airflow is entirely typical for this time of year. Although heavy showers are forecast, the Environment Agency confirms there are currently no flood warnings or alerts in place for the local area.

Conditions are expected to become drier and brighter by Thursday 26 March 2026, though it will remain chilly with a maximum temperature of 7°C. The North West England regional forecast suggests that while showers may be wintry over higher ground, conditions will remain changeable through the end of the week.
