Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, will see a sharp drop in temperatures and strong winds this week as a mild spell comes to an end. According to the Met Office, daytime highs will fall from 15°C on Monday 23 March 2026 to just 9°C by Wednesday 25 March 2026.

On Tuesday 24 March 2026, wind speeds are expected to pick up with gusts reaching up to 39mph during the day. Heavy rain is also forecast for the evening, with the chance of downpours reaching 90 per cent by 7pm and exceeding 95 per cent later in the evening.

Conditions will turn even windier on Wednesday 25 March 2026, with gusts reaching up to 39mph. While the thermometer will show around 9°C, the wind chill will make it feel as cold as -1°C during the night.

By Thursday 26 March 2026, there is a small chance of wintry showers early in the morning, and temperatures could feel like -2°C. Steve Willington, a chief forecaster at the Met Office, said this move to colder air is normal for this time of year.

Although the weather will be unsettled, there are currently no official weather warnings in place for the town.
