Walton Hall and Gardens in Warrington, Cheshire, is now appearing on television screens across the world after being used as a filming location for the new Netflix series, Talamasca: The Secret Order. The show, which premiered on the streaming platform in March 2026, features the historic hall as the setting for a mysterious New York building in the very first episode.

Production crews filmed at the site in October 2024, using the concert room, the bar area, and the famous staircase to represent a secret headquarters. The series is part of the Anne Rice universe and features well-known actors including Elizabeth McGovern and William Fichtner. According to Walton Hall and Gardens, which is owned by the local council, the venue was transformed into a fictional building called the ‘New York Motherhouse’ for the production.

Councillor Tony Higgins said Warrington Borough Council was thrilled to see the building showcased on an international platform. He also expressed hope that the film crew would return to the town to record a second series in the future. All six episodes of the supernatural spy thriller are now available for the public to watch on the streaming service.

The Grade II-listed building was originally built between 1836 and 1838 for Sir Gilbert Greenall before being purchased by the town in 1941. It has a long history of being used for television, having previously appeared in the BBC drama Our Zoo and the children’s programme Something Special.
