Folkestone Town Council has confirmed that the 14th annual Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday 27 June 2026 at The Leas in Folkestone, Kent. This free family event is set to run from 10am to 6pm and serves as a way for the community to recognize veterans, cadets, and current service members. The council confirmed the date to ensure residents and families can accurately plan their visit to the seafront for the celebrations.

Organizers expect the event to attract more than 50,000 people to enjoy air displays, live music, and various arena activities. While still subject to final confirmation, the 2026 lineup is expected to include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with its Lancaster and Spitfire aircraft, along with the Chinook Display Team. This year continues the local tradition of hosting one of the largest one-day shows in the region at the historic bandstand and arena area.

Visitors will find stalls from several organizations, including the Royal British Legion and the RNLI, alongside cadet units and classic car displays. Road closures will be in effect around The Leas starting from 8pm on Friday 26 June 2026 to prepare for the crowds on the main event day. Local companies interested in supporting the day have until 30 April 2026 to apply for sponsorship packages that help fund the free community displays.

For those interested in other local military history, the Folkestone and Ashford Military Show is also taking place earlier in the month on 6 June and 7 June 2026. Residents should note that the Armed Forces Day event remains free for all to attend. More information regarding the full schedule of entertainment and specific flying times will be released as the event date approaches.
