Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has announced a variety of family activities across Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield, Hertfordshire, to keep children entertained during the 2026 Easter school holidays. The council shared the full list of events on 20 March 2026, featuring theatre shows, outdoor treasure hunts, and the reopening of the local water park.

At Campus West in Welwyn Garden City, families can watch Dinosaur Adventure Live on Monday 30 March 2026. This venue sits opposite John Lewis and offers a cinema, a soft play area, and RollerCity, which is the only purpose-built roller rink in the county.

Outdoor activities begin when Splashlands at Stanborough Park reopens on Saturday 28 March 2026. The water park is free to enter and will be open daily from 10am to 5pm, depending on the weather. From Friday 3 April to Friday 10 April 2026, the park will also host the Xplorer treasure hunt where families can use free maps to find hidden cards.

In Hatfield town centre, the Easter Eggstravaganza returns to White Lion Square on Saturday 4 April 2026 between 10am and 3pm. This free event includes face painting, balloon modelling, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Nearby, the Mill Green Museum is launching a new Garden Easter Trail on Friday 3 April and Sunday 5 April 2026, where children can earn a prize from the tea room.

For children aged 6 to 12 who receive benefits-related free school meals, the HAPpy Camp at The Hive in Hatfield provides a free programme of sports and crafts. Local residents can also visit the Barn Theatre on Handside Lane, a community venue located in a 17th-century barn that stages at least 10 productions every year.
