Residents in York, North Yorkshire, are invited to share their concerns about crime and anti-social behaviour with Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Julian Ward at a community drop-in session on Monday 30 March 2026. The meeting gives people a chance to speak directly with one of the neighbourhood officers responsible for the city centre and discuss any local issues affecting their area.
PCSO Ward is part of the North Yorkshire Police York Inner neighbourhood team. The session will take place between 10:30 am and 11:30 am at the Red Tower on Foss Islands Road.
The Red Tower is a historic 15th-century building and is the only part of the York city walls built of brick. It now functions as a community hub that provides support services and food distribution for local residents.
The meeting comes as local crime figures from Police.uk show there were 487 crimes reported in the York Inner area during January 2026. This total included 141 reports of anti-social behaviour and 50 reports of shoplifting.
The police force is working to increase its presence in local communities, with a goal of having 122 PCSOs and 112 dedicated neighbourhood officers in place across North Yorkshire by the end of March 2026. Residents who want to receive more information about policing in their area can sign up for updates through the Neighbourhood Alert website.
