Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court recently granted a partial closure order for a property on Aspen Way in the Oakridge area of Basingstoke, Hampshire. The decision follows evidence of drug activity and anti-social behaviour presented by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.

Under the terms of the legal order, only the specific person authorised by the court may enter or stay at the property for the next three months. Anyone else found at the address during this period will be committing a criminal offence and faces immediate arrest by officers.

The restrictions were secured through joint work between the Basingstoke Neighbourhood Policing Team and a local housing association. Sergeant Karla Leese said the property had been a blight on the community and confirmed that officers are committed to using all available options to tackle drug-related activity across the town.

This is the latest in a series of similar actions in the Oakridge area, following previous orders at Pear Tree Way in October 2024 and Vivian Road in December 2025. In February 2026, two people were charged with breaking the rules of the closure at the Vivian Road address.

The court granted the order under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, which allows authorities to shut down premises causing a nuisance. Local figures show that anti-social behaviour remains one of the most reported issues for residents in the neighbourhood.
