Cheltenham Borough Council has confirmed that bin collections in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, will mostly stay the same over the 2026 Easter period, with only a short delay following the bank holiday. While crews will work as normal on Good Friday, 3 April 2026, there will be no collections on Easter Monday, 6 April 2026.

Because of the Monday break, all collections for that week will take place one day later than usual. This means residents who normally have their bins picked up on Monday will see the team on Tuesday, 7 April, and those with Friday collections will have theirs picked up on Saturday, 11 April. Normal service will resume on Monday, 13 April 2026.

The waste and recycling services are managed by Ubico Ltd on behalf of the local authority. From 1 April 2026, a new service also begins where residents can recycle food and drink cartons, such as Tetra Pak-style packaging, in their green recycling boxes alongside plastics and cans.

According to Cheltenham Borough Council, collections can start as early as 7am, so bins should be put out ready for the crews. Councillor Paul Baker, Cabinet Member for Waste, Recycling and Green Open Spaces, said that the changes are minimal this year and thanked residents for the effort they put into recycling at home.
