Hinckley has been selected as one of the first 27 locations in England to host a new Neighbourhood Health Centre, an initiative designed to provide residents with easier access to medical services closer to their homes. The project, which was confirmed on 26 March 2026, aims to bring primary care, diagnostic testing, and minor medical procedures together at the existing Hinckley Health Centre on Hill Street.

According to Dr Luke Evans, the Member of Parliament for Hinckley and Bosworth, the centre will serve as a hub for both clinical care and community support services. The goal of this rollout is to allow patients to receive care in their local community rather than having to travel to larger hospitals, helping to reduce the need for long trips for routine health needs.

The development is part of a national government strategy to move more healthcare services out of hospitals and into local settings. Existing services at the Hill Street facility will continue to run throughout the transition, with the new centre expected to be fully operational by 2027.
