Residents in Kingswinford will see changes to local waste and recycling services from April 2026, as Dudley Council updates its operations to meet national environmental requirements and expand tip availability. While waste services are managed by the borough council rather than Kingswinford Town Council, these changes will affect how households across the area manage their rubbish and recycling.

Starting 7 April 2026, the Household Waste and Recycling Centre on Birmingham Road in Stourbridge will return to seven-day-a-week operations. The site will be open from 8am to 6pm on Mondays and from 8am to 4pm for the rest of the week through September. This shift aims to provide more options for residents looking to drop off bulky items or garden waste.

The council is also relaunching temporary pop-up tip services, with locations at the Lister Road Depot in Dudley and The Northway Depot in Sedgley. These sites will operate on specific Saturdays each month, with the first dates set for 11 April at Lister Road and 25 April at The Northway. These locations accept items such as furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, and garden waste, but residents must book an appointment in advance through the MyDudley portal. Hazardous materials, including gas cylinders, paints, and car tyres, are not accepted.

These adjustments coincide with broader service changes starting 6 April 2026, including the introduction of weekly food waste collections and a switch to fortnightly general waste pick-ups, in line with national legislation. While the pop-up services have faced criticism from local officials regarding their annual cost, Dudley Council leaders maintain that the sites are a necessary resource for residents until more permanent solutions are found.
