Families in Peterborough can enjoy a free Easter egg hunt at Central Park this coming Wednesday, 1 April 2026. The event, hosted by Peterborough Family Hubs, will take place at The Willow Cafe from 10am to 2pm.

The day is designed for children and families to enjoy a variety of springtime activities, including egg hunts and workshops. Children’s author and illustrator Ellie Sandall will also be on-site to lead illustration workshops and share stories throughout the event. No booking is required for the activity, and families are welcome to simply turn up and join in. Families are encouraged to bring picnics.

The event coincides with the local Easter school holidays, which run from 30 March to 10 April 2026. It is held within Central Park, a space located on Park Crescent that has received the Green Flag Award for 23 consecutive years.

This community initiative is part of the broader Family Hubs programme, which Peterborough City Council continues to operate following an investment of £1.3 million from the central government for the 2025/26 period. The hubs provide a range of support services for families with children and young people across the city.
