The Southend Shakedown motorbike rally will return to the Southend seafront on Easter Bank Holiday Monday, 6 April 2026, bringing hundreds of riders to the city for a day of live music and trade displays.
Organised by ACE Cafe London, this free, family-friendly event will run from 9am to 5pm. The day features a mass ride-out that departs from the Ace Cafe in North West London at 10:30am, travelling along the A406, A13, and A127 before arriving at the seafront.
To accommodate the rally, a section of Marine Parade between Genting Casino and The Kursaal will be closed to general traffic throughout the day. Traffic management operatives will be stationed at these closure points to assist with navigation, and alternative access will be maintained for emergency services, residents, and local businesses.
The event, which was first held in 1998, received a funding boost from Southend-on-Sea City Council to support its recent revival. After a successful return in 2025 that drew an estimated 10,000 motorcycles, organisers are once again preparing for a significant turnout from riders across the country.
Trained marshals and volunteers will be on hand to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. As large crowds are expected, the council advises residents and visitors to plan their travel in advance and consider using public transport to reach the seafront area.
