Residents in Telford can access a new mobile support service starting on 31 March 2026, as part of an eight-week pilot programme designed to bring essential advice directly into local neighbourhoods. The initiative, titled Here to help, will see a bus visiting communities in Woodside, Brookside, and Sutton Hill to provide residents with easier access to health checks, wellbeing advice, employment support, and community safety guidance.

The project is a collaborative effort delivered by the Vision 2032 Partnership, which includes more than 15 organisations such as local NHS trusts, emergency services, and educational institutions. On Thursday 2 April 2026, the council’s Job Box Team and Telford College will be on-site to assist residents with information about training courses and job opportunities.

This outreach programme is part of a wider £30 million, ten-year investment aimed at regenerating South Telford. The funding includes £20 million from the Government and an additional £10 million committed by Telford & Wrekin Council to support long-term improvements in the area. The effort comes as recent data highlights significant local challenges, with nearly a quarter of the borough’s population living in areas that are among the most deprived in the country and a recent decline in healthy life expectancy for both men and women.

Councillor Lee Carter, Leader of the council, stated that the project is a clear attempt to break down barriers to ensure every resident can access support services. Jeni Kuczynska, Chief Executive Officer of Telford and Wrekin CVS, added that the organisation is proud to help bring these valued services directly to the heart of local neighbourhoods.
