Residents in Thorpe St Andrew will see changes to local bus services from Sunday 12 April 2026 as part of a wider network update across Norfolk. Konectbus is introducing new routes and revised timetables, affecting how people travel between Sprowston, Heartsease, and Norwich city centre.

The primary changes include the operation of routes 11B and 11C, which will serve Sprowston Road and Anglia Square. These services provide direct links for the Thorpe St Andrew area but operate only from Monday to Saturday, with no service available on Sundays or bank holidays. In addition to these updates, First Bus has also announced changes to its Red Line 23 and 24 services, which also connect to the area.

These adjustments coincide with the end of the Anglia Square closure, which has been closed for demolition work since 1 February 2026 and is scheduled to reopen on 12 April 2026. During the closure, services have been diverted to temporary stops near The Leopard public house, but routes will return to their regular paths once the closure ends. Passengers are encouraged to check new timetables before travelling, as specific bus stops and routes may be affected by the network reshuffle.

The changes are funded through a £65.45 million grant from the Department for Transport, which has been managed by Norfolk County Council to support local bus improvements. This broader initiative has already led to faster travel times, with new bus lanes on Thorpe Road and Queen’s Road helping to speed up journeys by up to 9 per cent. As part of this ongoing support, a 15 per cent discount on eligible fares remains available until 31 August 2026.
