Families in Sittingbourne and across the Swale district have a new schedule of support services and activities to look forward to, as the Swale Family Hubs network has announced its programme running from 20 April to 17 July 2026.

The new timetable features a variety of sessions designed to assist families with children from newborns up to age 19, or until age 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities. Available activities include baby groups, stay and play sessions, parenting support groups, health workshops, infant feeding support, healthy child clinics, and sensory room sessions.

These services are part of a wider transformation programme led by Kent County Council, which was selected as one of only 14 council areas in England to receive trailblazer status. This designation includes £11 million in funding from the Department for Education to improve local family services, with a core focus on perinatal mental health, infant feeding, and parental support.

In Sittingbourne, the local Woodgrove Family Hub on Johnson Road remains a key location for residents, operating Monday to Thursday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and until 4:00pm on Fridays. Additionally, family services are set to move into the recently refurbished Sittingbourne Library and Family Hub building starting 22 April 2026.

The full network serving the community includes five centres: Bysing Wood Family Hub in Faversham, Woodgrove Family Hub in Sittingbourne, Leysdown Family Hub on the Isle of Sheppey, Milton Court Family Hub in Milton Regis, and Murston Family Hub. Residents can view the full activity schedule and register for sessions online through the Kent County Council website.
