Leisure centres across Royal Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas remain open and operating as normal despite the charity that manages them, Fusion Lifestyle, entering administration on 1 April 2026.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has confirmed that residents can continue to use the Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre, Putlands Sports and Leisure Centre in Paddock Wood, and Weald Sports Centre in Cranbrook without any disruption to their services. Memberships remain active, and all existing bookings and classes are continuing as scheduled while the facilities transition to a new operator.

Nadeem Sweiss and Adam Stephens of S&W Partners LLP have been appointed as the joint administrators for the charity. Fusion Lifestyle, which has managed the local facilities since 2006, cited rising operational costs, reduced government funding, and challenges following the pandemic as the primary reasons for its financial difficulties.

To ensure the long-term future of these community assets, the council has reached an agreement for Serco Leisure, working in partnership with the Leisure Solutions Community Trust, to take over management from July 2026. This change in management will include the transfer of existing staff contracts to the new operator. The council has also confirmed that all paid-in-full memberships will be honoured by the incoming team.

Residents with specific concerns regarding their memberships or upcoming bookings are encouraged to review the information provided on the council website.
