Residents in Swadlincote can look forward to a significant improvement in the weather this week as temperatures rise following a wet and windy Easter weekend.

According to the Met Office, the area experienced unsettled conditions over the holiday period as Storm Dave moved across the United Kingdom. Saturday saw heavy rain and strong winds with gusts reaching 45mph, while Sunday remained breezy with gusts of 39mph. While the storm brought severe conditions to northern parts of the country, Swadlincote is now set to transition into a warmer and more stable spell.

The week will begin with a calm Monday featuring sunny intervals, temperatures reaching 13°C, and much lighter winds. Conditions are forecast to become even more pleasant by mid-week, with temperatures climbing to 19°C on both Tuesday 7 April and Wednesday 8 April under mostly sunny skies.

While the milder weather offers a good opportunity for outdoor activities, residents should be aware of changing air quality. Pollen levels, which were high throughout the weekend, are expected to rise to very high on Tuesday. Those who suffer from hay fever may want to take necessary precautions as they head out to enjoy the warmer temperatures.
