Police have issued a security warning to residents in the Palatine Road area of Blackpool following a series of recent burglaries in the neighbourhood. The alert, shared on 2 April 2026 by Lancashire Constabulary, urges locals to take immediate steps to secure their homes as warmer weather approaches.

PCSO Charlie Croasdale, who serves the Brunswick & Talbot ward, issued the warning through the Stay In The Know neighbourhood alert system. Residents are being advised to ensure all doors and windows are locked, to check that home security cameras are fully operational, and to remain vigilant for any suspicious behaviour in the area.

The warning comes during a period where authorities have noted rising concerns regarding home security. According to data from Lancashire County Council, residential burglary across the county increased by nearly 8% during the 2024/25 period. Across the UK, burglary rates often see a seasonal rise as the weather warms, as homes are more frequently left with open windows or doors.

Local police remind residents that any suspicious activity should be reported by calling 101. In the event of an ongoing emergency, members of the public should dial 999 immediately.
