All six distribution hubs operated by the Bournemouth Foodbank will be closed on Good Friday, 3 April 2026, and Easter Monday, 6 April 2026. The charity has reminded residents who rely on these services to collect their emergency food parcels before Thursday, 2 April 2026, as regular operations will not resume until Tuesday, 7 April 2026.

The foodbank operates from six locations across the area, including the St George’s Hub in Boscombe, Lifehouse Hub in Moordown, and the Citygate Community Hub on Holdenhurst Road. Other sites include the St Mike’s, St Luke’s in Winton, and St Andrew’s hubs. Individuals seeking assistance must have a valid foodbank voucher, which can be obtained through local referral agencies.

The upcoming closures occur as the organisation continues to address significant local need. Between October 2024 and September 2025, the foodbank provided 101,754 meals, including 25,281 for children, while supporting 3,104 households. These efforts are supported by more than 200 volunteers who provide their time and expertise each week.

The service, which is part of the Trussell Trust network, has previously reported that the ongoing cost of living crisis has changed the landscape of local support, with some former donors now finding themselves in need of the foodbank’s services. Local initiatives have been bolstered by grants provided by the BCP Council in partnership with the Dorset Community Foundation, which have helped fund various food projects.
