The Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for information after a 22-year-old man suffered a broken jaw during an assault outside a nightclub in Cheltenham. The incident occurred at approximately 4:53am on Saturday 14 March 2026 outside Home and Botanic on St George’s Road.

The victim sustained fractures in two places during the attack, which involved a group of two or three men. He has already undergone surgery for his injuries and will require a further operation in the coming months. Officers have reviewed local CCTV footage as part of their investigation, but are currently unable to provide descriptions of the people involved.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about those responsible to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police by completing the official online reporting form and quoting incident reference 101 of 18 March.

The assault comes as the Cheltenham Town Centre neighbourhood policing team works to address rising concerns regarding anti-social behaviour in the town’s night-time economy. The local force currently manages regular weekend patrols and safety initiatives in partnership with various groups, including local Business Improvement District members and community support services, to improve safety for residents and visitors during evenings and weekends.
