Northamptonshire Police have released a closed-circuit television image of a man they want to identify following an incident of criminal damage at The Cannon Pub in Wellingborough.
The incident occurred at the pub, located at 71 Cannon Street, when a man used a hammer to smash several windows. The individual caught on camera was wearing a coat, tracksuit bottoms, and a bobble hat at the time of the event.
The pub, which is part of the Admiral Taverns Proper Pubs division, underwent a £250,000 renovation that was completed in August 2024. Wellingborough has recently faced challenges regarding local crime, having been identified as the town with the highest number of reported incidents of criminal damage and arson for its size in Northamptonshire as of January 2025.
Inspector Miriam Kiernan, who oversees neighbourhood policing in Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire, is leading the local response. Authorities are asking anyone who recognises the man in the image or has information about the damage to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 2600017107.
Alternatively, information can be shared anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
