Wiltshire Police are calling for witnesses after a disturbance took place at Jephson’s Pharmacy on Barrett Way in Wroughton. The incident occurred at approximately 5.20pm on Tuesday 31 March 2026, when a man and a woman entered the premises.

Following the event, officers arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of several offences, including assault, criminal damage, drug driving, using counterfeit notes, possession of a Class C drug, and possession of a bladed article in a public place. A parked vehicle at the location was also damaged during the disturbance. The man has since been released on bail while further enquiries are carried out.

Jephson’s Pharmacy is a family-run independent business that has served the local community for 50 years. This event comes amid wider national concerns regarding the safety of pharmacy staff. Recent data from the National Pharmacy Association indicates that 87% of UK pharmacies have experienced intimidating behaviour towards workers in the past year, while a survey by Community Pharmacy England found that 55% of pharmacies had experienced verbal abuse in the past six months.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police by emailing [email protected] or by calling 101 and quoting reference number 54260038577.
