Luton town centre will host a Victorian-themed market for St George’s Day on Saturday 25 April 2026 to also celebrate 150 years since the town was granted borough status. The event will take place between 10am and 4pm at Market Hill and George Street, with support from Luton Rising, the council-owned company that owns London Luton Airport.

The market aims to reflect Luton as it might have appeared in 1876. Visitors can expect a range of free activities, including an interactive 12ft mechanical dragon, a children’s carousel, street performers, and various historical exhibitions detailing the town’s hat-making industry.

This event is part of the broader St George’s Day celebrations hosted by Luton Council. Families are encouraged to attend and take part in the period-themed activities, which will also include funfair games and costume dress-up opportunities.
