Residents in Beeston should prepare for a wet and windy Saturday before seeing a return to drier, milder conditions throughout the coming working week. According to the Met Office, the weekend will bring a mix of unsettled weather before temperatures begin to climb by Monday.

Saturday 11 April is expected to be wet, with the highest probability of rain occurring early in the morning. Strong winds are also forecast to build throughout the day, with gusts reaching up to 37mph by the afternoon. Conditions will remain blustery on Sunday 12 April, which will see light showers and temperatures reaching 14°C, though it may feel closer to 10°C.

The weather is expected to become more settled from Monday 13 April. The forecast for the working week points toward dry conditions with sunny intervals, as temperatures gradually rise to 17°C by Wednesday and Thursday.

While the improved weather will be welcome for those planning outdoor activities, residents who suffer from hay fever should remain cautious. Pollen levels are expected to stay high or very high throughout the coming period, with birch pollen being the dominant factor. Met Office Senior Scientist Lucy Neal noted that current weather conditions are ideal for trees to release pollen and for it to be carried over longer distances, which can significantly impact those affected by allergies.

According to the latest East Midlands regional forecast, the start of the week will see frequent showers and lighter winds, before the weather becomes more settled by Tuesday.
