Residents in Northampton will have the opportunity to browse for bargains or sell unwanted household items when Delapré Abbey hosts a car boot sale on Sunday 26 April 2026. The event will take place from 8am to 12pm on the historic grounds, located just one mile from the town centre on London Road.

Those wishing to sell items can arrive from 7:30am to set up their pitches. The cost to participate is £10 per car or £12 per small van. For those attending to shop, entry is by donation, and no tickets are required for visitors.

The car boot sale is the latest addition to the spring calendar at the site, which recently held its annual Easter activities in early April. The Delapré Abbey Preservation Trust continues to manage the venue, which remains a focal point for the community after its reopening in 2018 following a major restoration project.

This year marks a significant milestone for the site, as it recently celebrated 80 years of public ownership. Since being purchased by the local authority in 1946, the grounds have transitioned into a popular visitor destination and have been recognised as Northamptonshire’s Venue of the Year.

Following the car boot sale, the Abbey will prepare for the Delapré Food Festival, which is set to return on 6 and 7 June 2026. The festival will feature a variety of food stalls, chef demonstrations, and entertainment for families.
