Residents in Peterborough should prepare for a week of changeable weather as the Met Office reports a mix of sunny intervals and rain showers from 13 April to 18 April 2026. While temperatures are set to climb throughout the week, those heading outdoors should remain prepared for sudden shifts in conditions.

The week begins with cooler temperatures of 13°C on Monday, featuring sunny intervals and a 40% chance of rain by late afternoon. Conditions are expected to warm up by Tuesday, reaching 16°C, before peaking at 18°C on Wednesday. However, Wednesday will start with an overnight rain system carrying a 60% chance of precipitation in the early hours, followed by overcast skies and gusty winds that may reach 30mph.

From Thursday through to Saturday, temperatures will remain relatively mild, hovering between 17°C and 18°C. During this period, residents can expect a continuation of sunny intervals, though there remains a consistent 30% to 40% chance of rain in the afternoons. Wind speeds are expected to ease as the week progresses, dropping from the higher gusts seen on Tuesday to a more manageable 17mph by the weekend.

With high pollen levels from birch and ash trees persisting throughout the week, the National Health Service advises hay fever sufferers to take necessary precautions. Additionally, while air pollution levels are currently low, UV levels are rated as moderate. The Met Office recommends that residents apply sunscreen when spending time outdoors during the middle of the day to protect against sun exposure.

The recent unseasonably warm weather across the UK, which saw temperatures reach 26.6°C on 8 April, has contributed to the current high pollen count in the region. There are currently no flood warnings in place for the area according to the Environment Agency.
