Residents in Stockport should prepare for unsettled conditions on Wednesday 15 April 2026, as the Met Office has issued a forecast for heavy rain and strong winds during the afternoon.

The weather is expected to turn noticeably wetter during the day, with the probability of rain reaching 90 per cent at 2pm and rising to at least 95 per cent between 2pm and 3pm. Those travelling during the afternoon commute should plan for potential disruption, as winds could reach gusts of up to 34mph. Additionally, there is a local risk of lightning associated with the incoming heavy rain.

Despite the deteriorating conditions, Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, with temperatures peaking at 17°C. Humidity is expected to drop from a morning high of 93 per cent to 69 per cent by the time the rain arrives in the afternoon.

Although the forecast indicates significant rain, the Environment Agency has reported no active flood warnings or alerts for the Stockport area at this time.

This forecast was updated by the national weather service at 3:13am on Tuesday 14 April. Residents are advised to monitor local conditions as they go about their daily activities.
