Community groups and voluntary organisations across the Lancaster district have until 30 April 2026 to apply for two separate funding opportunities aimed at supporting local health initiatives and sustainability projects.

The funding streams are being managed by Lancaster District CVS, an organisation that has spent over 50 years supporting local community groups. Applications for both grants must be submitted through the online portal at morecambebay.grantplatform.com before the 11:59pm deadline on 30 April 2026.

One available fund is the Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative VCFSE Support Fund, which offers grants of up to £2,000. This programme is designed to support community-led activities that improve health and wellbeing by focusing on moving care from hospitals into the community, shifting from treating sickness to preventing it, and moving from analogue to digital services. The fund has a total budget of £13,500, with organisers expecting to support between six and eight projects. Any activities funded through this programme must be finished by 31 August 2026, with final reports due by 30 September 2026.

Separately, the Pots of Possibility Community Pots programme provides grants of up to £5,000. This fund is part of the £1.5 million Closing Loops project, which is led by FoodFutures and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. It aims to support pilot projects that help build a sustainable local economy through themes such as repair, shared resources, arts, festivals, and sustainable food.

Eligibility for both funds is open to voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations, including registered charities, constituted groups, community interest companies, and not-for-profit companies. Applicants must have at least two unconnected committee members and a UK bank account. Those requiring assistance with their applications can contact the Lancaster District CVS team by email at [email protected] or by calling 01524 555900.
