Police Appeal For Witnesses After Reading ATM Robbery

Thames Valley Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed at a cash machine outside a Morrisons Daily on Wensley Road in Reading on 8 April 2026.

The victim, a man in his fifties, was using the cash machine between 9.30pm and 11pm when he was threatened with a screwdriver by an offender who demanded money. After the victim repeatedly asked for his money back, the offender assaulted him. The victim remains in hospital following the attack.

Detectives are specifically looking to speak with a member of the public who witnessed the assault in the area surrounding Wensley Road, Coley Recreation Ground, St Saviours Road, and Hollybrook Road. The investigation is being led by Detective Constable Lewis Macauley under reference number 43260171879.
