Cleveland Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a driver who failed to stop after a collision in Middlesbrough that left a 60-year-old woman with serious injuries.
The incident occurred on St Barnabas Road at approximately 8:35pm on Tuesday 7 April 2026. According to the police, the woman was struck by a silver vehicle, which then left the scene without stopping. The driver reportedly continued on to Lathem Road before turning on to Chipchase Road, leaving the victim lying in the road.
The woman required extensive hospital treatment, including surgery for a fractured ankle. Although her injuries are not considered life-threatening, police are prioritising the search for the driver involved.
