Residents and visitors planning to travel near the Walton Hall campus in Milton Keynes should expect travel delays on Monday 4 May 2026, as the MK Marathon passes directly through the site. The event will require intermittent restrictions on the campus ring road between 09:00 and 16:00 to ensure the safety of runners.

Because participants will be running against the normal one-way traffic system, the campus will operate under modified access rules for the day. All vehicles entering the grounds must use the East Gate Security Lodge. Once on-site, parking is limited to the Library Car Park, and visitors will need to walk to their final destination. Those leaving the campus must use the South entrance and exit barriers.

The marathon route also includes the nearby H9 Groveway, which serves as the primary access road for the campus South entrance. This road will be closed between the Simpson Roundabout and the new Walton Roundabout from 10:45 to 16:45. The race, which starts at 09:00 is one of the region’s largest sporting events.

Event Director Andy Hully has apologised in advance for the disruption, noting that the closures are essential for the safety of all participants. Further enquiries regarding site access can be directed to the Estates Liaison Line at 01908 653286.
